Advisory Council to RSVP Charlotte seeks volunteers to assist in fund raising activities, including, but not limited to planning, phoning supporters and generally promoting events. Previous fundraising experience is not necessary. Time commitment varies.
Alzheimer’s Association needs volunteers who are caring, compassionate and interested in furthering the Alzheimer’s Association’s commitment to the clients they serve. Looking for persons with strong organizational and clerical skills to prepare Helpline Packets, maintain database, prepare mailing labels, compile manuals, answer incoming phone calls, preparing for events, copying and filing. May also be asked to work other special events for the Alzheimer’s Association.
Community Presbyterian Preschool & Childcareof Englewood is looking for energetic and loving adults who enjoy interacting with children infant through 5 years of age with and without disabilities. Tasks include participating in small group activities under supervision of staff, set up/clean up tables before and after meals, organize classrooms, accompanying children to library once a month, sitting down with a child on carpet upon request of staff, monitoring children on outside playground, vacuuming carpets and cleaning floors as needed. Group activities include singing, doing crafts, expanding vocabulary, playing games, and encouraging creativity. Criminal background check required, and mandatory orientation. Minimum 3 hour shift required.
Peace River Wildlife Centeris seeking volunteers for a variety of jobs, including habitat caretaker/hospital assistant, habitat caretaker/cage cleaner, tour guides, gardeners, maintenance, emergency workers, fund raisers/special event planners, and gift shop workers. The Center is opened 7 days a week from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, but the animal care positions require an earlier start.
Visually Impaired Persons of Charlotte County, Inc. is seeking a volunteer to help with website maintenance. Job can be done at home with copy provided by VIP. Should be familiar with html code. Minimum time commitment is 4 hours per week.
Volunteer Reception CenterTraining, sponsored by Charlotte County Emergency Management, Charlotte 211 and Senior Friendship Centers RSVP Charlotte will be held on Thursday, June 14 at the Salvation Army 2120 Loveland Blvd, Port Charlotte, FL 33980. Volunteer Reception Centers are activated following a major disaster, and register volunteers and place them with recovery and human service agencies needing assistance after an event. The training will be held from 9:00 to 11:30 AM. Training is free, but reservations are suggested. Call 941-613-2299 by June 2 to reserve your space.

Trivia Quiz Night to benefit RSVP is seeking trivia buffs for the Charlotte Harbor Rotary Quiz Night. Teams of no more than 6 members compete for a cash prize. The quiz consists of 8 rounds of 10 questions and a bonus question. Wednesday, June 13 and Wednesday, July 11 at Laishley’s Crab House, 150 East Retta Esplande, Punta Gorda, FL 33950.
