Serendipity and Paintball Pete, certified pet therapy llamas pay a visit to The Living Room, Senior Friendship Centers' adult day services, in this edition of A Gulf Coast Journal, produced by WEDU educational television and narrated by Jack Perkins. The animals offer the element of surprise, a  sensory softness and gentleness along with a "sixth sense" of who needs extra attention, according to owners Kathy and Karli Wilbanks of Oakcrest Farms who bring the llamas to the center. "They have the deepest eyes and  they have and endless soul, " said Kathy. Serendipity was named 2009 Pet Therapy Hero of the Year by the Florida Veterinary Medical Association.
