Are you having concerns about your balance and mobility?
Balance movement classes, offered weekly in Sarasota County from Newtown to North Port, can help you strengthen your core muscles and build the sense of balance that is so important as we age. Each class is open to the public for a nominal fee. Wear comfortable clothing and bring bottled water. It's very important when exercising to remain well hydrated here in Florida so don't forget to bring that bottle of water and to target to drink non caffeinated beverages thru out the day.

Did You know?
That by 2020 6.6 million Americans will be 85 or older, up from 4.3 million in 2000.Thanks to better medical care, people are living longer than they did 100 years ago. But this also comes with the need that more of us will need assistance with such tasks as walking, bathing, dressing and eating. Falls continue to be a real threat to older adults independence with 1 out of 3 people 65+ sustaining falls each year. We all need to stay active and become our own advocates in maintaining our strength and independence to aide in decreasing our risks for falls and injury. Falls do not have to be a normal part of aging so bring a friend and come try a class at a Senior Friendship Center near you.
