RSVP Charlotte

About RSVP Charlotte

Charlotte RSVP is a program of Senior Friendship Centers, Inc. We help people 55 and older find satisfying activities in their retirement years. We place volunteers in over 75 worksites throughout the county. Our volunteers do everything from protecting turtle eggs to neighborhood watch and emergency preparedness. We are helping children learn to read, and mentoring teens with decision-making. We are visiting with seniors who are isolated in their homes. We want to expand the number of seniors who are engaged in making Charlotte County a better place to live.

RSVP volunteers work at non profit corporations, government agencies and proprietary health care companies. We can match a volunteer’s interest with a need in the community. Volunteers can work on a regular basis, or for one-time events. Snowbirds are welcome to enroll. Charlotte RSVP makes it easy for volunteers to find the right volunteer job.

Partners

Senior Corps RSVP connects volunteers age 55 and older with service opportunities in their communities that match their skills and availability. From building houses to tutoring and mentoring children, from enhancing the capacity of non-profit organizations and government agencies, to improving and protecting the environment, RSVP volunteers put their unique talents to work to make a difference.

Your home United Way is run by people from your community. It is you and your neighbors who give and volunteer. The fruit of your generosity works at home where it's needed most. We are stronger working together than working apart.

The Corporation for National and Community Service plays a vital role in supporting the American culture of citizenship, service and responsibility. We are a catalyst for change and champion for the ideal that every American has skills and talents to give. The Corporation is the nation’s largest grant maker supporting service and volunteering. Through our all of our programs, we provide opportunities for Americans of all ages and backgrounds to express their patriotism while addressing critical community needs.

We believe that connecting individuals, groups and organizations by sharing information and needs will strengthen and improve charitable giving in our community. Gulf Coast Community Foundation of Venice is pleased to provide information that will help to increase our communities' philanthropic resources.
