Bob Carter is President and CEO of Senior Friendship Centers and Senior Friendship Centers Foundation. He has served with this innovative non-profit organization since 1987, which provides a wide range of elder services at over 30 sites throughout Southwest Florida.
Bob has more than 30 years management and administrative experience including three years as a U.S. Army Officer. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Tampa, a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Suffolk University in Boston and has completed graduate coursework in Gerontology at the University of South Florida.
A strong advocate for older adults, Bob has served in volunteer leadership roles at both local and statewide levels. He currently serves as President of the Florida Association of Aging Services Providers (FASP), Trustee of Florida Council on Aging, and Chairman of the Sarasota County Senior Advisory Council. He has previously served as President of the Glasser/Shoenbaum Human Services Center of Sarasota and President of the Sarasota County Aging Network.
